25/09/2026

Students from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University conducted a field study as part of the Project III course, within the scope of the Urban Park Landscape Design Project.

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Meliha AKLIBAŞINDA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat YÜCEKAYA, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra ÖZHANCI, the students examined the project site on location and evaluated its existing characteristics, relationship with its surroundings, and key elements that would guide the design process.

As part of the field study, students observed and evaluated the site's natural and physical structure, topographical characteristics, existing vegetation, transportation connections, and surrounding land uses. In addition, emphasis was placed on the role of urban parks in urban life, their relationship with open and green space systems, user needs, and spatial requirements for different recreational activities.

Through the field study, students were encouraged to develop design decisions in response to the existing potentials and needs of the site and to adopt an approach focused on creating user-oriented, functional, aesthetic, and ecologically sustainable spaces.

Through the Urban Park Landscape Design Project carried out within the scope of the Project III course, students are expected to apply their theoretical knowledge to practice, develop design proposals based on site analysis and synthesis, and strengthen their professional knowledge and skills in the design of urban open and green spaces.
